Why are we targeting federations and competitions?

The sports industry relies heavily on governing bodies (federations and associations) and private organizers worldwide. These entities create the rules and policies that affect schools, clubs, and competitions where teams and athletes participate. Referees and volunteers are essential components of a well-rated competition. Engaging and competitive events attract fans, and these fans are the audience that brands want to reach. Brands, together with streaming and grants, provide most of the available resources in the sports industry depending on the category of the competition.

We are confident that by working with governing bodies and competitions, we can reach all the stakeholders and maximize the utility of the $LEGEND token.

$LEGEND has three main assets when it comes to competitions:

  1. Community: the most engaged supporters in the world, participating from the beginning of the season week after week.
  2. Data: competitions are the original and official source of scores, results, records, and more.
  3. Transactions: from memberships and registrations to paying referees, awards, collectibles, and merchandising.

Sports governing bodies, also known as sports federations, play a crucial role in the organization, regulation, and promotion of sports competitions at local, national, and international levels. These bodies are responsible for setting rules and standards, enforcing regulations, promoting the sport, and supporting the development of athletes and teams. A sports federation is typically made up of member organizations such as clubs, teams, and national associations, and is run by a board of directors or executive committee. Some of the main functions of a sports governing body or federation:

  1. Rulemaking and Standard Setting: Sports federations are responsible for establishing and enforcing the rules and standards of the sport. This includes everything from safety regulations to fair play and competition rules.
  2. Event Organization: Federations organize and oversee sports competitions at the local, national, and international levels. This includes scheduling, logistics, and event promotion.
  3. Athlete Development: Sports federations are responsible for supporting the development of athletes and teams through training, coaching, and other resources. They may also provide funding and scholarships to promising athletes.
  4. National Team Management: Federations manage national teams and oversee their participation in international competitions such as the Olympics, World Cups, and other championships.
  5. Anti-Doping: Federations are responsible for enforcing anti-doping regulations and ensuring a level playing field for all athletes.
  6. Promotion and Marketing: Sports federations are responsible for promoting the sport and increasing its visibility through marketing and media outreach.
  7. Membership Management: Federations manage their membership base, which includes clubs, teams, and national associations. They may also regulate the transfer of athletes between clubs and teams.
  8. Finance and Administration: Federations manage their finances and administrative functions, including budgeting, fundraising, and human resources.

Partnering with federations

Sports federations are in a unique position to connect with athletes, fans, teams, and clubs, and can offer a range of benefits to their partners. By leveraging the expertise and resources of sports governing bodies, we can engage with audiences, and contribute to the development and growth of sports.

  1. Access to Athletes and Teams: Sports federations have direct access to athletes and teams at all levels, providing opportunities for brand promotion, product endorsements, and sponsorships. Partnering with a federation can also offer access to exclusive events and content, providing unique marketing opportunities.
  2. Reach and Exposure: Sports governing bodies have a wide reach and exposure, with events and competitions that attract millions of fans from around the world. By partnering with a federation, we can tap into this audience and increase our brand visibility and recognition.
  3. Credibility and Trust: Sports federations are respected and trusted by fans, athletes, and other stakeholders in sports. By partnering with a federation, we leverage this credibility and trust to build brand reputation and loyalty.
  4. Community Engagement: Sports governing bodies are deeply rooted in the communities they serve, and are often involved in local outreach and development programs. By partnering with a federation, we participate in these programs and contribute to the growth and well-being of local communities.
  5. Innovation and Technology: Sports federations are often at the forefront of innovation and technology in sports, with initiatives such as data analytics, video review, and fan engagement platforms. By partnering with a federation, we can access these innovations and technologies and create a bigger community to use $LEGEND.
  6. International Exposure: Sports governing bodies operate at the international level, providing opportunities to expand our reach in local markets.

In our first months, we have signed contracts with leading sports governing bodies worldwide, representing over 60 million athletes.
